First Things First:

Everyone is guilty of only posting the best version of their day online. We hardly see someone taking off-brand pics of their worst outfit, or their basic egg sandwich on their feed. Social media is a place where we don't just show our best side, but also get convinced that everyone else is living their best lives. It is OKAY to take a break when you need it, especially if it is making you feel sad, angry or even anxious!

This doesn't mean that social media isn't a great tool to get in touch or stay in touch with people, and view the world from the comfort of your couch! This is just a reminder that being online may not always be positive - or even a realistic view of what other people are going through.

Here are some tips to help you manage social media stress. Set limits for yourself and try to take breaks from your phone. Also, don't be scared to click UNFOLLOW! If an account makes you feel bad about yourself, HAIBO! Unfollow or mute them. Take time to appreciate the good things in your life. Instead of focusing on what you don't have, focus on what you do.

While social media can be fun, it's important to remember it is different to your real-life relationships. Spend time with friends and family offline and give yourself a break.
When you find yourself feeling anxious about what is on your feed, put the phone down and get busy living. Even if it is just a five-minute break - protect your peace, fam. Pick up a hobby, go try something new and you never know what you may discover.
You can enjoy all your favourite apps without feeling like you aren't doing enough!
