One thing that really helps me get through tough days is taking a few quiet minutes for myself before I do anything else. I’ve noticed that if I start the day with my mind already racing, everything just feels heavier and harder to deal with. It’s like I’m carrying a load before the day has even started. So I make sure to sit somewhere calm. Sometimes I take slow, deep breaths and let myself just be in that moment.
Sometimes I use that time to think about the things I’m grateful for like the people who care about me or even something as small as hearing my favourite song. Other times, I don’t think about anything in particular. I just let my thoughts come and go without holding on to them. It doesn’t magically fix my problems, but it gives me space to reset before the day really begins.
On days when I feel like I can’t do it anymore, this small routine reminds me that I’ve been through hard times before, and I made it through them. It’s a gentle reminder that I don’t need to figure everything out right now. I just need to take the next step. And somehow, that’s enough to keep me going.
