What Youth Day Means To Me

Youth Day is more than just a memory of Morris Isaacson High-school students marching to Orlando to fight against Apartheid and the Afrikaans policy. A power of youth activism that serves as a reminder that young people have the power to challenge injustices, change the significant social and political issues we face.

While Youth Day commemorates a serious struggle, it's also a time to celebrate the energy and potential of young people. This Youth Day, I focused on learning new skills and reminded myself that we each hold the pen to our own story. Your voice matters—speak up, advocate for yourself, and never settle for less. You are unique —embrace your strengths, trust your abilities, and dream fearlessly. With dedication and hard work, you have the power to create the future you desire.

Failure teaches; don’t fear it. Celebrate every win, and stay close to those who lift you higher.
